Dear Families,
Happy Spring! Surely warmer weather will soon greet us as well! This newsletter is very detailed and that is a testimony to all that is happening within our Dyer community. Hopefully the organization of this communication will make it easier to sift through everything.
• Progress Reports are enclosed in today’s totes. Our second trimester has ended and teachers have provided you an update on your child’s current level of performance relative to end of year benchmarks. Please take some time to review the report with your child, celebrating successes and encouraging a continued positive effort as we begin the final trimester. Should you have any questions about the report, don’t hesitate to contact your child’s teacher.
• MEA’s (Maine Educational Assessments) are finished!! Our children in grades 3, 4, and 5 worked very hard to complete the various tests in reading, writing, math, and science. I am very proud of their sustained focus throughout the tests, and while we do not know when results will be available, I can offer assurance that the children put forth personal best which is truly what matters most!
• By now you must be aware that the School Board endorsed an alternative redistricting proposal, the details of which are available on line. The Administrative Team has met to craft a transition plan for the children and parents impacted by redistricting. A letter outlining the transition plan is included today in the totes of each of our Dyer families who will be attending Brown School in the fall. We will be welcoming three families from the Kaler community and nine families from the Brown community. Read entire letter here
